Where to find it
This automatic results component is used by the Header search. Configure it in Theme settings → Search; do not add it to a page template.
Set it up
- Enable predictive search under Theme settings → Search.
- Choose the resource types to show: suggestions, products, collections, articles and pages. Set Results per type.
- Choose whether product results show images and prices.
- Open Header search and type a relevant term from your actual published content. Test keyboard navigation, a result link and an unmatched term.
Content and media
- Product result images come from product media; other result text comes from the matching Shopify resources.
Check the mobile layout
- Check the search opening control, input, suggestions and results on a phone. The full Search page remains a separate destination.
Common questions and fixes
- No suggestions appear: check Enable predictive search, the chosen resource types and available matching content.
- Changing this helper has no editor controls: use Theme settings → Search.
