Section tutorials

Article page

Present an article with its own content, optional contents navigation, sharing and comment area.

Where to find it

Open Blog posts in the template selector, select the intended article template and choose a real article for preview.

Set it up

  1. Create the article, featured image, author and content in Shopify before selecting it in preview.
  2. Set Desktop banner height and Desktop article width for the intended editorial composition.
  3. Enable Show table of contents when useful. It lists nonempty H2 and H3 headings from the article body; keep those headings in a logical order.
  4. Add or select the Comments block and choose Show comment form. Blog-level comment availability and moderation remain controlled in Shopify.
  5. Configure Social share and Back to blog button label where needed. Review the final paragraph, comments and spacing before the Footer.
  6. After changing article settings in the editor, check that the contents links still reach the corresponding headings.

Blocks and content

  • Custom liquid: configure this inside the section. Its available controls are listed below.
  • Comments — up to 1: configure this inside the section. Its available controls are listed below.
  • Social share — up to 1: configure this inside the section. Its available controls are listed below.

Content and media

  • The hero uses the article's featured image. Use a sharp wide original and preview the crop at the selected banner height.

Check the mobile layout

  • Use the contents button to open the list, then select a heading and check that the list closes. With a keyboard, enter a contents link and press Escape: the list should close and focus should return to its button. Check heading wrapping, wide embedded content and the comment form without horizontal page scrolling.

Common questions and fixes

  • Editing this template changes several posts: those articles share the template; assign a separate template for a distinct design.
  • No comment form appears: check both its block switch and the blog's comment settings.
  • A contents entry is missing: use an actual H2 or H3 in the article body. A bold paragraph or an empty heading does not create an entry.

Full control reference

Names, choices, ranges and defaults below are read from this version of the theme. Defaults are starting examples, not promises about your business. Some controls appear only for the matching layout. Block contents and preset starting values can differ from the base defaults.
