Section tutorials

Multi-column

Arrange a short editorial sequence, process or group of features in coordinated columns.

Where to find it

In Online Store → Themes, open the unpublished theme editor, choose a compatible template, then Add section → Multi-column. Availability follows the selected template and section group.

This section is not available in the Header group.

Set it up

  1. Add a Column block for each item and supply its image, optional label, heading and text.
  2. Choose Desktop columns and Presentation. Show numbers is useful when the block order represents steps.
  3. Choose Image ratio and Content alignment, then adjust Column gap and Content gap.
  4. Set per-column links or the section's closing Button label and Button link when a destination is needed.
  5. Choose the mobile layout and check the narrative still reads in block order.

Blocks and content

This section allows up to 8 direct blocks. Nested blocks have their own parent-specific choices and limits.

  • Column: configure this inside the section. Its available controls are listed below.

Content and media

  • Use matching image shapes for a uniform row. Square or portrait originals around 1000–1600 px are a useful starting point for cards.
  • Numbering follows the displayed items; use a logical order if these are instructions.

Check the mobile layout

  • Choose Stack for a vertical sequence or Carousel for horizontal browsing. Review long headings and the final call to action.
  • A horizontally overflowing Carousel can receive keyboard focus. Use the arrow keys to browse it; a list that fits without scrolling does not add an extra Tab stop.

Common questions and fixes

  • Columns appear uneven: use a consistent ratio and similar copy lengths.
  • A column link is absent: configure both the label and its Button link.

Full control reference

Names, choices, ranges and defaults below are read from this version of the theme. Defaults are starting examples, not promises about your business. Some controls appear only for the matching layout. Block contents and preset starting values can differ from the base defaults.
